US Continues To Detain All Kinds Of Illegal Chinese Food
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regularly publishes and updates import alerts, to prevent imports of the United States from foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals, biologics, cosmetics, medical devices and electronic products that emit radiation, which are not in compliance with the federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, many of the products are imported from Hong Kong and mainland China.
Processed food imported from the United States shall not contain any illegal pesticide residues. Under the S19-08 import alert, if the shipper or producer fails to provide a valid certificate certifying that the product does not contain any illegal pesticide residues, the Food and Drug Administration officials are not required to make any physical inspection or to detain the goods. Illegal pesticide residues found in Chinese products this year include imidacloprid, metronidazole, tramadol, Malathion, acetyl-P and Carbendazim.
