RCM Certificate

Australian RCM certification is a compulsory certification for the import and export of electrical products in Australia. Since March 1, 2013, Australia and New Zealand have implemented a unified EESS (Earth Electrical Equipment Safety Regulations), and the electrical products in Australian and New Zealand markets must comply with local safety regulations and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) technical standards.

Australian RCM certification is a compulsory certification for the import and export of electrical products in Australia. 


Since March 1, 2013, Australia and New Zealand have implemented a unified EESS (Earth Electrical Equipment Safety Regulations), and the electrical products in  Australian and New Zealand markets must comply with local safety regulations and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) technical standards.


Only after you get C-Tick or A-Tick and SAA approval,can you register for RCM certificate.



All electronic and electrical products that apply for certification in Australia can be divided into three categories based on the inherent risks of the product:


☞ Low-risk equipment (level 1): The supplier must ensure that the product meets the appropriate safety standards and retains evidence of compliance for five years after the product is discontinued.

Reference Standard: AS/NZS 3820


☞ Medium risk equipment (level 2): The product must issue a test report at a designated test facility and register product information in the EESS database.

Reference Standard: AS/NZS 4417.2

Products include: air conditioners, portable lamps, projectors, home appliance connectors, lamp holders, fluorescent ballasts, etc.


☞ High-risk equipment (level 3): The product must issue a test report at a designated test facility, perform product certification at a designated conformity assessment agency, obtain a certificate of conformity (CoC), and register product information in the EESS database.

Reference Standard: AS/NZS 4417.2

Products include: home appliance connectors, arc welding machines, bayonet lamp holders, bayonet lamp holder adapters, toasters, dryers, etc.


Certification Procedure


1. Submit samples to NTEK,we'll perform test as per AS/NZS standard,and issue a test report.

2. Submit application form and test report to Australian Issuing Authority.

3. Documents reviewed by Australian Issuing Authority.

4. Australian Issuing Authority issue RCM certificate.

5. The client should register on EESS database by himself or by the laboratory;
